WHAT YOU DO

The right principal has what we look for in a future partner for Maplerivertree, who can own end-to-end client services for one existing vertical, or bring entirely new dimensions to the firm. You own client engagements, managing studies to define client needs and supervising research activities to obtain relevant data.You will oversee the formulation of hypotheses for research and investigation, and superlative analysis of clients, competitors, and industry data. You can apply knowledge of business principles and industrial organization, develop actionable recommendations, and supervise work including strategic due diligence, product development studies, change management plans, and the evaluation of long-term investment opportunities. Principals are also responsible for managing client contact and play a key role in the development and maintenance of high-level client relationships. 

As the senior person most frequently at the client site, Principals interact with the client lead on a day-to-day basis to ensure that expectations are aligned. Principals provide the project management oversight required to meet client expectations. Responsibilities may include the development of presentations, managing of external relationships and consultant work progress, providing status reports, and overseeing budgets.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Demonstrated expertise aligned with one of Maplerivertree’s practice areas.

  • 3 to 5+ years of post-graduate school consulting experience, with 1+ years at a team lead level.

  • Track record of collaboration with senior executives. Must be comfortable delivering formal presentations to management

  • Strong management and communication skills. The ability to bring together all stakeholders and persuade senior clients to take action is essential.

  • Strong analytical skills and a high capacity for conceptual thinking. Ability to develop leading edge business models, frameworks for analysis, and long-term business strategies that maximize shareholder value. Must be able to thrive in a hypothesis-based environment where inductive rather than deductive reasoning is the norm.

  • Proven ability to manage client engagements, client relationships, and provide “thought leadership” to teams, owning the responsibility for the quality of engagements.

  • A combination of management and “hands on” delivery experience is critical.

  • A solid track record of building strong client relationships with large organizations, as well as identifying opportunities to deepen those relationships and grow the business.

  • Technical degree is nice to have but not required

  • A degree from a top-tier institution preferred

  • Most importantly, being a Principal means that delivering assigned client projects is not enough. We are looking for a rainmaker, who creates new client engagements and wins business for the firm.
